I am a self taught artist who was born and brought up on the west coast of Scotland. It is a stunning place with some of the most varied geological features on the planet.  Add to this the dramatic ever changing light conditions and it is easy to see why it has been a source of inspiration to so many artists.

My style of painting has changed many times and only in the last few years have I found a media and style that I really enjoy working with. 

I usually prepare canvas with gesso and structure paste in an abstract way until when I stand back I see something that I can transform into something more recognisable. Highly pigmented professional acrylics are then mixed with glaze and inks to create atmospheric landscape and seascape paintings.
